How to Get the Most out of Your Energy Healing Session (1)

If you’ve been to any of my Ahai™ 7D Healing Circles or Channel Collective 7D Drop-In Healings, you probably have a good idea of how beneficial (and transformative!) receiving energy healing can be.  

A lot of clients ask me if there’s anything special they need to do on their end before receiving energy healing. The shorter answer? No – just relax and be ready to receive! However, if you really want to maximize how much you get out of each session, there are a few things you can do to help yourself prepare.

1.Be open and ready to receive.

If you show up to your energy healing session feeling closed-off and questioning whether the healing is going to “work”, you’re already blocking yourself from receiving its full benefits! It’s important to be both mentally and physically ready to receive your healing. Some exercises that can help you feel into what intentions you want to set for your sessions are meditating and journaling. I always tell my clients to say out loud or in their heads, “I am open to receive,” when we first begin, because this helps them energetically open up. Never underestimate the power of intention! If it’s your first time receiving energy healing, find out how your specific session will be facilitated to help you feel more confident going into it. 

Don’t be afraid to communicate with your energy healer if you’re feeling nervous or closed off! Letting them know how you’re feeling allows them to work with you and adjust their practice accordingly.

2. Fully embrace the process.

Again – if you come to your session unprepared to embrace the energy healing, you aren’t going to benefit fully from it! If you have any questions or concerns about the session, have an open conversation with your energy healer beforehand so they can outline everything you can expect! Embracing the process also means releasing any judgment or fear around the energy healing, so make sure to arrive at your session with an open mind. Remember that every session is unique, and there is no “right” or “wrong” experience. It can be helpful to set the intention that the session will be exactly what you need for your highest and best at that time. 

3. Don’t come in a rush.

This might not come as a surprise, but you’re not going to get the most out of your energy healing session if it’s rushed. It’s important to set aside enough time on a day where you aren’t booked up with other commitments to have your energy healing session. This can help you feel less stressed, more receptive, and better able to focus on the energy you are receiving. If you book your energy healing session and other plans pop up right before or after, you might want to reschedule your session for a day when you won’t feel pressed for time. Getting your session on your calendar in advance can help you make sure you keep a more open schedule that day. A lot of energy healers – including myself – recommend setting aside extra time after the session to rest and integrate! It’s important you allow yourself to be fully present in the experience, without being worried about what happened before or what your next plans are.

4. Tell your energy healer about any specific things you’d like to work on.

Your energy healer can target specific areas or blockages with their intention – but it’s best that you communicate anything specific you’d like them to focus on beforehand. Some things you can ask your energy healer to work on are past traumas, illnesses, physical injuries, or emotional blocks. Remember – your healer is here to help you, not to judge you! Don’t be afraid to be completely honest with them in order to get the most out of your session. If you’re hoping they’ll support you in a specific way, make sure that intention is known to them! 

5. Take care of yourself after your session.

A lot of people underestimate the physical effects that energy healing can have on the body! After your session, it’s not uncommon to feel tired. (However, some people feel more energized.) Make sure to get rest, drink plenty of water, and fully integrate the healing you just received. This is another reason why it’s important to schedule your healing session on a day where you aren’t packed with to-dos! After your session is over, I strongly recommend taking a few minutes to simply rest and allow things to settle instead of rushing to your next task.
