In this episode, I sit down with Sal Di Stefano and Adam Schafer, hosts of the Mind Pump Podcast (along with Justin Andrews, who couldn’t make it). Sal and Adam have years of experience as personal trainers, club managers, IFBB fitness competitors, and fitness thought leaders. I’ve been a longtime fan of their podcast because they’re extremely dedicated to busting the myths and lies spread around in the fitness, nutrition, and health industry. They’re no BS – just my style.
Sal and Adam talk about how much exercise you really need for optimal health, the downsides of cardio, and the importance of walking around during the day. They share exactly what you should do to stay in shape but not overdo it. They talk about the longterm effects of overtraining and undereating, and why eating disorders are so common in the bodybuilding community. They explain the effects of cardio on the body, why they’re fans of lifting weights, and how using your bodyweight can fit into a workout program. We talk about the difficulties of finding trustworthy information when it comes to health and fitness, and they explain why their podcast and fitness programs (MAPS) are different than other programs and sources of information out there. We also talk about hormones and how porn has affected testosterone levels in men – MIND BLOWN.
