The Best Time to Eat Your Carbohydrates

Let me begin by saying there is no “right” or “wrong” time to eat your carbohydrates. Everyone has a different carbohydrate tolerance, and we should always honor what our bodies are telling us. However, modern ways of living and eating have lead to widespread insulin resistance, and many people find that they are more sensitive to carbohydrate intake than they might have previously thought. For those individuals, it can help to be strategic about carbohydrate timing to support proper hunger signals, balanced energy, stable blood sugar, and reduced cravings. This also applies to people who have very specific goals, like fat loss or muscle building. For someone who eat carbohydrates with most meals and feels great, or has no other health issues or specific body composition goals, then these suggestions might be totally irrelevant. When discussing carbohydrates in this article, I’m referring to fruits and starches, not non-starchy vegetables.
